Everyone wants to be successful. But few people take the time and energy to define what success actually means to them. As a result, they spend most, if not all, of their lives chasing what society superimposes on them as success. I am a veteran of the U.S. Navy who specializes in helping professionals, veterans and athletes transition into careers that are fulfilling and purposeful.

My Origins

After separating from the Navy in 1995, I made the decision to get a degree in computer science because I knew it would bring financial security to me and my family. Upon graduation from college , I started growing my career. Even though I was able to earn a position at a top corporation, I felt unfulfilled by a job whose primary purpose to me was that it offered a decent paycheck. In the meantime, I always loved coaching and found a side job coaching high school football. Coaching football was very fulfilling and purposeful to me. During football season I would arrive at my paying job by 5:30 am so I would be able to leave early to coach football until 6 or 8 pm each night.

What Changed?

When you play at life as hard as I was something had to give.  For most of us it is usually our health.   At the end of 2014 I felt weird while coaching in the annual Thanksgiving day football game. That weekend I was diagnosed as having suffered a mild stroke!  WAIT!! suffered is not the correct phrase.  I WAS GIFTED WITH A  MILD STROKE!!  

It forced me to face the reality that I had been living my life to make ends meet…instead of living a life with intention and purpose. I was not LEADING my life instead I let life lead me down a path that was unfulfilling . As I returned to my IT job I realized the following two things:

One thing I’ve discovered from 20 years of coaching high school football is that for me coaching was more than playing games and yelling at teenage boys. The thrill I receive from helping people set goals on the edge of what they think is possible and then systematically breaking barriers and obstacles to achieve their goals is way more exciting than any US vs THEM score.

Something powerful resides within all of us!!

I transitioned to Career and Life coaching because I had an awakening. I learned to value how I chose to use my time. I learned that those “some day” goals will never happen if I do not take a step towards these goals “today.” I have a passion for helping people achieve. I feel the thrill of seeing them achieve their goals and dreams. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than seeing people living a life created from the highest vision of themselves.
